Our Commitment 

At Signature Mark Tours, safety is a core value and integral to every aspect of our coach hire services. We are fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety for both our passengers and staff. As a responsible and trusted transport provider, we continuously monitor and review our practices to ensure the wellbeing of everyone in our care.

We take passenger safety extremely seriously and implement strict policies to manage risk and uphold legal compliance, particularly while passengers are in our hands. Our general policy on health and safety includes the following commitments:

• To identify and control risks arising from our daily operations.

• We actively consult with both employees and drivers on all safety-related matters.

• To maintain all vehicles and equipment to the highest legal and operational standards.

• All staff will receive clear information, training, and supervision.

• To ensure all employees and drivers are fully trained and competent in their roles.

• We aim to proactively prevent accidents, work-related illnesses, and safety incidents.

• The policy also aims to maintain a safe, clean, and healthy working environment.

• We regularly review and revise this policy to align with current best practices.

• All passenger vehicles must maintain compliance with DVSA safety regulations.

• It is imperative to implement all feasible measures to guarantee the safety of passengers during transportation.

Responsibilities

• The Directors of Signature Mark Tours hold overall responsibility for health and safety.

• Day-to-day safety operations are overseen by the COD (Operations Director).

• All employees and drivers have a duty to:

  • Cooperate with management on all safety matters.

  • Avoid interfering with safety equipment or procedures.

  • Take reasonable care of their own safety and that of passengers.

  • Promptly report any health and safety concerns or incidents.

Competency & Training

Every staff member undergoes thorough induction and job-specific training, including:

• First-use vehicle checks

• Record-keeping and communication procedures

• Vehicle-specific training

• Passenger handling and emergency response

No driver is assigned to a passenger vehicle or given access to fuel cards until all required training is completed. All training records are securely stored at our Luton Head Office and can be accessed by authorised personnel at any time.

Accident Management & First Aid

• First aid kits are available in every vehicle and office facility.

• Designated first aiders are based in the control office.

• All accidents or work-related illnesses must be recorded in the official accident book, located at our Control Room.

Monitoring & Safety Checks

We are proactive in monitoring safety through both routine and spot-check inspections, as well as thorough investigation of any accidents or incidents. Drivers are expected to be prepared for unannounced checks at any time to ensure full compliance with safe working practices.

Emergency Procedures

• Emergency escape routes and fire extinguishers are regularly checked by certified professionals.

• In the event of an emergency, our drivers and duty managers follow a clearly rehearsed procedure designed to minimise disruptions and maximise passenger safety.

• Drivers are required to document incidents fully, including photographic evidence of vehicle positions, to support official accident reports.
